A single story desert modern residence drafted end to end, from the carport and pool through every interior room.
The project
A long, low, single story house on an open lot, with the desert hills behind it doing the work a fence would otherwise have to do.
The elevation runs wide and flat with a covered carport worked into the massing rather than bolted on. Behind it, a pool and spa sit off a deep covered patio, and mature palms and flowering planting soften what would otherwise be a lot of horizontal line. A spiral stair off the patio reaches the roof deck.
The interior set is unusually complete for a project this size: great room and kitchen, every bedroom, a dedicated home office, the media room and the garage. That level of documentation is what lets a client approve finishes before anything is framed.
